Serman Oks Hspital and Gossman Burn Center - update
SHERMAN OAKS HOSPITAL AND GROSSMAN BURN CENTER - UPDATE
Sherman Oaks, CA - September 1, 2009. The Grossman Burn Center located at Sherman Oaks Hospital, announced today that it would relocate to West Hills Hospital and Medical Center in the first quarter of 2010. The Burn Center has been located at Sherman Oaks Hospital, a subsidiary of Prime Healthcare Services (“PHS”), for over 30 years.
PHS continued the operations of the Burn Center since its acquisition of Sherman Oaks Hospital in January 2006. In addition, Prem Reddy, MD, FACC, FCCP, PHS’ Chairman of the Board, made a personal donation of $ 1 million to the Circle of Care Foundation (formerly, Sherman Oaks Hospital Foundation), which serves the health care needs of the indigent residing in communities served by Sherman Oaks Hospital including burn care services and both Dr. Reddy and Sherman Oaks Hospital have provided continued support to the Children’s Burn Foundation. “We are very happy that we had a long and beneficial relationship with the Grossman Burn Center,“ said Dr. Prem Reddy. “We wish them all the best at West Hills Hospital and Medical Center. We are happy that the expert services of Drs. Grossman will remain available to the people of the San Fernando Valley.”
Sherman Oaks Hospital, a 153-bed acute care facility, announced last week opening of its brand new state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and a 19-bed Geriatric Psychiatric (Gero-Psych.) facility offering much needed cardiac and mental health care services especially for the seniors in the area. The Gero-Psych. Department opened in the same unit where the previous operator of Sherman Oaks Hospital had closed down the unit. PHS made the decision to reopen the department after it determined behavioral health services were greatly needed, especially for seniors in San Fernando Valley.
Prime Healthcare’s network of hospitals was recognized in August as one of the Top 10 Health Systems in the nation for 2009 in a first time survey conducted by Thomson Reuters’ Top 100 Hospital™ survey. PHS is the only hospital system in the western United States to be recognized in the Top 10 award and data from Sherman Oaks Hospital was utilized in achieving this recognition.

SHERMAN OAKS HOSPITAL OPENS NEW CARDIAC CATHETERIZATION LABORATORY AND REOPENS BEHAVIORAL HEALTH FACILITY FOR SENIORS
Sherman Oaks, CA- August 25, 2009. Sherman Oaks Hospital, a 153-bed acute care facility, a subsidiary of Prime Healthcare Services, Inc. (PHS), today is opening its brand new state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.
The new Cardiac Cath. Lab helps to definitively diagnose cardiac conditions and in certain cases of emergencies, to intervene in opening the clotted coronary arteries that cause heart attacks.
“Early intervention in opening these clotted vessels help limit the damage to the heart muscle and in improving patients’ quality of life,” said the Director of the Cardiac Cath. Lab and the past Chief of the Medical Staff, Nate Rubin, MD, FACC. “Simply put, this new lab will help save lives.”
